With the dawn of a new year among us the time calls for a fresh approach to the energy that the new year provides. With hip-hop in what some would say a questionable place the self proclaimed Certified G'z have made a promise to provide a breath of fresh air in this rather stale hip-hop climate. Fresh off of there 2011 street certified "Industry Takeover Pt. 2" Mixtape Chief C and Young Don have decided to give their fans a long awaited chance to hear them stand alone and individually release solo projects. Young Don's upcoming mixtape is titled "Position Of Power" and Chief C's is called "Until I Return". Prior to the Chief's untimely incarceration he was able to complete a sure to be classic mixtape that the fans are going to love! "I wanted to leave my fans with something they could listen to while im away in hopes that it will almost feel as if im home." Says the Chief. And judging by the huge amount of support he's gotten since being imprisoned early last year the mixtape looks to do just that. With his release from the correctional facility coming early this year the Chief also plans on releasing another Certified G'z album with partner Young Don yet untitled. Although on the outside it may seem that things are looking rather bleak for the duo in trying times such as these it seems they've mastered the old art of taking life's lemon's and turning them into lemonade. In other words... They are continuing there pursuit for a place in this culture we refer to as hip-hop regardless of what unpredictable circumstances that life may place in front of them. An example many youth and aspiring artist can learn from. All in all it just goes to show that a dream mixed with passion, desire and belief can take you places far beyond what you yourself may even believe to be possible. The Certified G'z are a living testament of that. They appear to be off to a great start for the new year and seem to be on track to have an even better year once Chief C is released from prison and the duo are once again reunited.
